who is Dean Owen?
Dean is the manager, podcast host and driving force behind albertaJOBcast.
He was the IT operations manager for a large enterprise for many years where his HR motto was ‘hire hard and manage easy!‘.
Dean was always faced with the challenges of recruiting qualified, professional and suitable staff for his organization. As the availability of candidates who were the ‘right fit’ with the organization dwindled due to the hot Alberta economy he became less reliant on the traditional methods such as newspaper ads and online job boards and looked for other methods of connecting with the right people.
albertaJOBcast is the result of Dean’s time spent in the world of Web 2.0 and his years of experience as a hiring manager.
albertaJOBcast is Dean’s solution to help solve your employee recruitment challenges by using the power of blogs, podcasts and social networking to get your jobs out on the new web.

what is a podcast?
A podcast is an audio file (MP3) that can be played directly from a web page or downloaded to a computer, iPod, MP3 player, cell phone and other MP3 enabled devices. Podcasts can also be video files, called VODcasts.
